Hi, I’m Heidi. Graphic designer, colored pencil artist and a fairly recent bullet journal addict!
I’ve always had a planner/office supply fetish. For years, my Franklin planner was my constant companion, but it seemed that so much of it would go unused. I would also put important information in it, and then, when I needed it, it would take a while to find it again.
I used to stand in the calendar/planner aisle forEVER, trying to find the perfect system for MY life. And it had to be the perfect size to throw in my purse and take everywhere with me. AND, sometimes, all I was going to use it for was taking notes or jotting down a phone number or address. I didn’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on a fancy planner when I might not use it every day.
I used my iPhone for appointments so I would have the reminders, but I really missed the tactile response of writing on actual paper.
A few months ago I was in the middle of KonMari-ing my home and searching for more inspiration on Pinterest, when I saw a pin for a KonMari bullet journal spread.
What is this “bullet journal?” I asked myself. I found more pins on Pinterest, Googled it, found Ryder Carroll’s site, watched the video, and I was hooked! A notebook, with an INDEX, and a planner, that you create AS you need it. Seriously brilliant.
The very next day, I went to a local art store, bought a beautiful turquoise Moleskine notebook, and the rest is history.
